How It Works

Kids and teens learn through experience.

The experience of launching and running a business teaches kids:

  • Supply and demand
  • Using money to make more money
  • How to prepare for an investor pitch
  • How to work as a team to surmount challenges, learn from mistakes, and celebrate greatness

Every day at WhizBizKids is a unique experience.

Monday – The team brainstorms product ideas and conducts product research

Tuesday – The team selects the product(s) that they will sell and pitches the product(s) and business plan to an investor

Wednesday – The team produces the product(s) and sells the product(s) to the public

Thursday – The team continues production and selling

Friday – The team continues production and selling and splits the profits

Throughout the week, different campers fill the roles of CEO, CFO, Marketing Manager, and more. Campers experience a different aspect of managing the company each day.

WhizBizKids camps are hosted by local restaurants and Country Clubs that go out of their way to support young people gaining experience with money and entrepreneurship. Thank you to all of the businesses that have hosted Whiz Biz Kids! We couldn’t do this without your support.

Experiential Learning

In order to allow campers to experience the full benefit of experiential learning, the WhizBizKids team takes as much of a hands-off approach as possible. We provide the environment for them to explore the process for themselves and to make their own mistakes. Through this method, they develop a deep understanding of the concepts they are exploring. Because it’s their business, their idea, their product, and their money, the kids have a strong sense of ownership from the very beginning.
