Our Mission

Our mission is to provide opportunities for young people to explore their inner entrepreneur, build habits for a life of financial success, and achieve independence. Through first-hand experience, they will be prepared for a responsible and proactive adulthood, confident that they can accomplish whatever they choose!

Alicia Hoffman opened Moolah U of Northwest Austin in 2013 with the mission of preparing youth to be great with money and grew it into a successful summer camp that impacted hundreds of campers.  In 2016, Alicia launched Whiz Biz Kids with the goal of combining all of the beloved financial lessons with an additional focus on life-skills.   Through skill building and working with business mentors, kids and teens will be able to start building their dreams!

By starting and running a business in camp, and the life-skills workshops of the Apprentice Program, participants gain the skills and knowledge needed for a confident, proactive adulthood.

WhizBizKids offers week-long summer camps for kids and teens. Campers work together to start a business, pitch it to investors, create products, and sell their wares. Campers make all of the business decisions and practice leadership, teamwork, and integrity. In the end, they leave camp with a newfound confidence and they keep all of their profits!

Graduates of the camps can join the Apprentice Program. The Apprentice Program offers monthly workshops during the school year on vital life-skills like professional communications, managing their own commitments, and developing habits for financial freedom. Apprentices are also matched with a Mentor in the Austin business community. Apprentices work on the WhizBizKids team at the summer camps and can advance to a paid summer job.
